Check out the demo for this flashy top-down stealth action game-

A free prologue is out now for stealth action game Intravenous 2, called Mercenarism, it puts you in the top-down shoes of Gideon, an amoral mercenary who takes on a couple simple jobs that’ll snowball into the events of the main game when it releases later this year.

The two-level demo sets up the premise of the game: You’re an army of one badass whose job is to sneak past or shoot everyone between you and your objectives. You’ve got the power to customize yourself the way you want for the fights to come, either via skill trees, weapon modifications, or general gadget loadout. If all else fails you can drop into bullet time for an extra edge in tense moments.

Intravenous 2 bills itself as a tactical stealth action game, and I think they’ve got the vibe right for the genre. …

Larian tells Baldur’s Gate 3 players to delete early access saves and uninstall the game to avoid ‘unintended conflicts’ with the full launch-

With just two days left until the Baldur’s Gate 3 hammer finally falls, Larian Studios is recommending that anyone with the early access version ditch it completely to avoid any potential launch-day headaches.

“For Baldur’s Gate 3 players with existing Early Access saves, we ask that prior to August 3, launch the game, and delete all save files to avoid unintended conflicts at launch,” Larian tweeted. “Also, remove any mods and ensure they do not automatically re-download.

“We recommend players with Early Access installed uninstall the game after deleting their save files. This will reduce the risk of file conflicts when the final game downloads, and should mean more playing, and no troubleshooting!”

Uninstalling the early access version of Baldur’s Gate 3 immediately …

Helldivers 2 had a disastrous weekend, but it didn’t stop hordes of players from diving in, with countless more stuck in queues-

I was planning an indulgent weekend shackled to my PC eradicating alien bugs and robots in Helldivers 2. Instead I was forced to do boring things like going outside and spending time with my annoying dog. A travesty.

Helldivers 2 continues to suffer for its success, which wasn’t entirely unexpected. Ever since its launch, developer Arrowhead has struggled to keep the game running smoothly in the face of its huge popularity, and a new server cap doesn’t seem to have noticeably alleviated the issues, instead just causing another one.

As the concurrent player count kept rising, Arrowhead attempted to create a buffer against this horde of Helldivers by capping the servers at 450,000 players, but this did nothing to solve the most significant problem.

Is Apex Legends making the biggest overhaul of a matchmaking system ever–

As with every single competitive game out there, the developers of Apex Legends have to deal with player perception of what’s wrong  alongside the realities they see behind the scenes. A persistent thread in the Apex community’s grousing has been about the game’s matchmaking system, and specifically how it measures skill and forms squads and matches around it.

To enumerate the various issues players have raised would take forever, but one regular example is that skilled players sometimes feel that they’re being deliberately matched with much less skilled players, and vice-versa, in a doomed attempt to create balanced matches that only results in blowouts.

This has been going on for basically as long as the game’s been out, but developer Respawn has now posted what I can…

Nvidia’s unreleased quad slot RTX 4090 Ti behemoth smiles for the camera-

After the release of the RTX 4090, we expected Nvidia to eventually follow up with a Ti model unleashing the full capabilities of the AD102 GPU. Though the RTX 4090 Ti was never confirmed, pictures of a large and unique quad slot cooler appeared as far back as October 2022, indicating Nvidia was at least preparing for the eventuality that a mammoth cooler was required for some kind of GPU.

The since-deleted picture comes from a Reddit poster (via Videocardz). I mean, just look at it. That’s the kind of cooler that looks like it could handle a 600W TDP. And it appears to be a complete card. Given the previously leaked design of the cooling baseplate with its unique perpendicular PCB, surely most of the design and engineering work has been done?

The RTX 4090 Ti was re…

Overwatch 2’s highly anticipated space girl hero drops next week with season 12-

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the Overwatch community as hyped about a new hero as much as Juno. Her trailer has over 2 million views on YouTube—more than the Overwatch 2 launch trailer—and my X feed is filled with posts from accounts dedicated to counting down the days until she’s out. Everyone wants the space girl to come home, and she will next week when season 12 begins on Aug 20.

Although the season is titled “New Frontiers”, it won’t actually be themed around space or Juno’s home planet Mars. Most of the new skins and cosmetics will be based around ancient Egyptian gods. Fittingly, Reaper will get a Mythic skin based on Anubis, the god of death.

But the real reason to log in is Juno, a support hero who brings a little Overwatch 1 back to Overwatch 2…

Raise a glass to one of the biggest games of 2023 having rec specs from 2014-

Rejoice, all ye mere mortal PC gamers, for your Diablo 4 hour approacheth.  The Diablo 4 beta has been announced, and the hardware requirements are mercifully modest. It’s likely they may increase when we get to June’s launch, but for now they make for great reading.

At rock bottom, Blizzard says you’ll need an Intel Core i5 2500K or AMD FX 8100 CPU on the CPU side and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon R9 280 for graphics. Oh, and 8GB of RAM and 45GB of available storage. That’ll buy you a 720p low graphics settings experience at 30 fps.

As for the recommended specs, Blizzard doesn’t specify the targeted resolution, quality and frame rate. But it’s looking in the region of 1080p, medium and hopefully 60 fps.

Whatever, you’ll need an Intel Core i5-4670K or…

Sims competitor Life By You delayed to June to refine gameplay and ‘add more life’ to character faces-

The life simulation game in development by Rod Humble and team at Paradox Tectonic, Life By You, is sliding back a few months in the release calendar of new 2024 games. Previously planned for early access in March, it will now launch on June 4.

In a video message to fans alongside the announcement, Humble says, “As a team, we are so stoked for this date change,” which is definitely unlike the apologetic tone that delays are usually couched in. “It gives us a little bit of extra time to really focus on a quality player experience and a fun game right from the start of early access.”

In the blog post announcing the delay, Paradox outlines quite a few areas for improvement from player feedback that it wants to spend the extra few months addressing. As…
